Avebury were approached by Oakmont Homes in 2015 to convert four existing office buildings into a number of new apartments for private sale in the heart of Aylesbury. We exceeded the client's initial expectation in the number of apartments that could be created by optimising the space within the buildings and by converting the existing roof space.
As the development is within a conservation area in Aylesbury, a careful approach to planning was required to keep the maximum number of units while keeping the external works to a minimum. Through consistant dialogue with the local planning authority and the conservation officer, the final scheme resulted in the satisfaction of all parties involved.
The development is being phased across the four buildings, with half the site due to complete at the end of 2018, with the remaining two buildings due to be converted in 2019 and 2020.
