In 2007, Avebury secured planning permission for the construction of 67 dwellings and a new community centre. While the residential section of the development was completed in 2009, the community centre site laid dormant for a number of years while funding was secured.

The residential units were completed in 2009, but the community centre remained unbuilt while funding was secured.

A smaller section of the community hall, which contains the quiet room was completed in 2019, and allowed the MK Hindu Association to move out of their temporary accommodation on the site into a building fit for purpose.

In advance of the site works Avebury successfully secured and put in place a European Protected Species Development Licence from Natural England, ensuring that the development could proceed safely and without causing adverse impact to the local Great Crested Newt population.
